“Rising from Ashes” at the Milwaukee Film Festival

The Wisconsin Cycling Association and the Colavita cycling team are co-sponsoring a film titled “Rising from the Ashes” at the Milwaukee Film Festival. Screening dates are Tuesday October 1, Friday October 4, and Wednesday October 9.

From the MFF website: This incredibly inspiring tale of perseverance and hope follows the wildly improbable Rwandan national cycling team as they learn what it takes to become professional athletes under the tutelage of cycling legend Jock Boyer, with the long-shot goal of qualifying for the London Olympics. Narrated by executive producer Forest Whitaker, this gorgeously shot doc is a moving portrait of how a group of people, when working in unison toward a goal, can become bigger than themselves and their country’s tragic history, becoming a symbol of hope for a people rising from ashes.
